National Maths Success for Kelly

Kelly Walter (17), first year student, has achieved bronze in this year’s Senior Maths Challenge.

Over 65,000 pupils across the UK sat the Senior Maths Challenge. The Challenge is run by the UK Mathematics Trust and aimed at those aged 16 – 19 and is sat in schools and sixth form colleges across the UK. The UK Mathematics Trust is a registered charity whose aim is to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. It organises national mathematics competitions and other mathematical enrichment activities for UK secondary school pupils.

On learning she had won the award Kelly said “I enjoy Maths lessons and I was delighted to receive the certificate”. Kelly’s mathematics tutor Sergey Sartakov said “Congratulations to Kelly as this is something of real value for her to add to her CV and UCAS application”.

Kelly also won award for Best in School, closely followed by Helen Cooke (17) and Devon Badman (16).
