Kat teaches Environmental Studies and Geology at F6rm. After a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science at the University of Sheffield, Kat travelled in Africa for a couple of years before returning to the Isle of Wight to work for the Environment Agency. This work took her to the best parts of the Island from the scrapyards to the landfill sites with the occasional visit to the rivers, streams and farmyards.

After another travel sabbatical, she trained as a teacher at the University of Southampton going on to teach Science and Geography for several years in Island schools. Next, her passion for travel took her to Ecuador to teach English in the Andes and meet volcanoes, giant turtles and glaciers up close.

Returning to Europe with a new language, Kat has worked in an international school in Spain for the last four years teaching Geography from year 7 to year 13. Whilst teaching fulltime, she took her MA in Education in Madrid before returning to the Island in 2011 to teach at the Isle of Wight College.

The Isle of Wight is a very special place to study the environment and geology and I am pleased to be working again with young people from the Island.
