Hamish Sutherland

Hamish is a teacher of French and Spanish at the Isle of Wight College. With a BA in Modern languages and European Studies, he has lived and worked abroad for several years combining his love of travel and discovering new cultures. He gained his first taste of teaching languages during his university degree where he taught English to young people in schools in France and Spain. This experience led him to carry on teaching languages after university, both abroad and in the UK. He has a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages and taught in several schools before starting on the island.
Hamish’s interests include music, cooking, and sports such as climbing, skiing and mountain biking. Of course travel is something close to his heart and he will leave the country as often as he ca
