Anna Wright

Anna Wright

Anna Wright teaches Business Studies and Economics at the Isle of Wight College. She studied Business at the University of Stirling, which included an exchange year to the Business School at Texas A & M University, USA and completed her PGCE at the University of Portsmouth.

Whilst in Texas and after graduating from Stirling, Anna spent some time gaining practical business experience as a franchisee and in the energy industry. She then went on to serve as a supply officer in the Royal Navy for 12 years. A wide variety of posts included leading the Royal Navy’s Compulsory Drug Testing Team and acting as Aide-de-Camp to the Lord High Commissioner (the Queen’s representative at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland). Throughout her service she was a divisional officer responsible for the welfare of naval ratings.

Prior to joining the staff at the Isle of Wight College Anna taught at Alton College in Hampshire. She is married to Stuart, a naval barrister, and they have two children. Passionate about skiing, Anna was a member of the Women’s Royal Navy Ski Team, and is looking forward to planning and participating in an Isle of Wight College Ski Trip.
